Pickleball· Nova

Very goodUpdated on 2026-10-03

The R1 Nova is the elongated version of Ronbus's Nova line, one of the first thermoformed raw carbon paddles at a mid-range price. It has a raw Toray T700 carbon face, a 16 mm polypropylene honeycomb core and thermoformed construction, which gives more stability and pop than traditional paddles. The measured weight is around 8.14 oz, the handle is 5.5 inches and the grip is 4 1/8. The elongated shape favors reach and spin, with a firm feel and good power from the baseline.

How the RR Score was calculated

CriterionWeightScore
Specs65%72
Approval from players35%65

The RR Score is not yet a precise figure. It summarizes the data we have today (specs and reviews) and changes as more information comes in. A low score does not mean the racquet is bad and does not reflect its technical quality: often it is just missing data or reviews. The specs combine several sources and may have discrepancies: check the manufacturer's website and the store where you buy.
