The Feather Weight X II is one of the lightest rackets in the world: Apacs lists 58 g (±2 g), 8U class. To avoid losing power with so little weight, the balance sits at 335 mm, extremely head-heavy. The High Speed Armor frame with hexagonal throat uses 30-ton Japanese graphite, and the tapered 7.0 to 7.5 mm shaft carries 30-ton graphite with IPN. The shaft is flexible (9.5 on the Apacs scale) and maximum tension is 30 lbs. It is a different racket, which reacts very fast and takes some adaptation to the weight concentrated in the head.

Strengths and watch-outs

Pros

  • Ultralight concept, according to Apacs
  • Heavy head tends to make up for some of the lightness in attack
  • Flexible shaft usually makes shuttle release easier
  • Shaft in 30-ton Japanese graphite with IPN

Cons

  • Weight concentrated in the head usually takes adaptation
  • Tension of up to 30 lbs can limit those who prefer very firm strings
  • Flexible shaft can give less stability on blocks
Ideal for
Those looking for an ultralight, fast racket who accept adapting to a very heavy head.

The RR Score is not yet a precise figure. It summarizes the data we have today (specs and reviews) and changes as more information comes in. A low score does not mean the racquet is bad and does not reflect its technical quality: often it is just missing data or reviews. The specs combine several sources and may have discrepancies: check the manufacturer's website and the store where you buy.

Buyer reviews

Average of the ratings given at each store, weighted by how many reviews each one has.

Store ratings may reflect the store experience (shipping, service), not only the racquet.
