The CPX Ultra pickleball paddle is elongated, at 7.48 in wide, narrower than a widebody. The core is a honeycomb surrounded by three foam rings on the perimeter, so that balls hit off-center come out the way the player intended. The face uses aramid, the fiber in bulletproof vests, stronger than pure carbon and which dampens vibration, with a friction finish for spin. The extra length reaches more balls and the higher balance point helps drives. It weighs 8.2 oz.
