The Black Knight Ion Surge succeeds the Ion Galaxy PS, famous in hard-ball doubles squash, and also suits singles. It weighs 145 g unstrung, has a 500 cm² head, a head-heavy balance, a dense 16x19 pattern and a stiffness of 93. The thicker bridge and throat give torsional stability, and Power Surge technology reinforces the frame to withstand aggressive exchanges. It is stiff, responsive and forgiving of off-center hits.

How the RR Score was calculated

CriterionWeightScore
Specs65%56
Approval from players35%65

The RR Score is not yet a precise figure. It summarizes the data we have today (specs and reviews) and changes as more information comes in. A low score does not mean the racquet is bad and does not reflect its technical quality: often it is just missing data or reviews. The specs combine several sources and may have discrepancies: check the manufacturer's website and the store where you buy.
