The Perseus 3S is the third generation of Ben Johns' paddle and was the first from JOOLA designed for UPA-A rules. It uses a Charged Carbon face, a 16 mm Propulsion core, an NFC chip for registration, and a reinforced edge guard. The elongated shape measures 16.5 x 7.5 inches, with a 5.5-inch handle, a 4.25 grip, and an average weight of 8.0 oz. In the 16 mm version, it delivers power with more stability and control on resets than the 14 mm. The original approval is UPA-A only; USA Pickleball came later with the 3S Dual.

How the RR Score was calculated

CriterionWeightScore
Specs65%63
Approval from players35%65

The RR Score is not yet a precise figure. It summarizes the data we have today (specs and reviews) and changes as more information comes in. A low score does not mean the racquet is bad and does not reflect its technical quality: often it is just missing data or reviews. The specs combine several sources and may have discrepancies: check the manufacturer's website and the store where you buy.
